In Recognition of the Rapid Response by Doctors on October 1 2017

The Washoe County Medical Society (WCMS) presented the Clark County Medical Society (CCMS) with the Community Service Award at their 112th Inaugural Dinner on Saturday, January 13. The award, which recognizes outstanding community service by physicians, was given in light of the rapid response of Southern Nevada doctors to the tragic events of October 1, 2017.

"To accept this reward on behalf all the doctors of Clark County is by far the most incredible honor that I have ever received,” said Dr. Joseph Adashek, president of the Clark County Medical Society.

"The Clark County Medical Society is honored and touched by the outpouring of support and recognition we have been given by the Washoe County Medical Society,” said Alexandra P. Silver, executive director of the Clark County Medical Society. “The horrific events of October 1 demonstrate that the quality of the medical care provided by our physicians is world-class, and we rose to the occasion without intervention from any other state to handle the largest mass shooting by an individual in our country to date."
