Dear Colleagues,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Clark County Medical Society Secretary Dr. Peter Mansky.

Dr. Mansky had recently retired from clinical medicine. He underwent coronary artery bypass grafting, and died from subsequent complications.

A superb psychiatrist with a sub-specialty of addiction medicine, Peter was a wonderful asset to the health care professionals of Nevada for over a decade. He will be remembered for his great work, salvaging the careers of innumerable fellow physicians and health care professionals. As an adjunct faculty member at Touro University, Peter was known for his excellent presentations, professionalism, and kindness.

In my experience with Dr. Mansky, he was invariably enthusiastic, optimistic, and engaging. I believe I can speak for all of us when I say that he will be sorely missed.

The family will not be sitting shiva, however they will be having a celebration of life service on Saturday, September 8 at Palm Mortuary Southwest at 7979 W. Warm Springs Road from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a brief "memories shared" service at 3:30 p.m., and all are welcome to share this information.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Nevada SPCA in his honor at www.nevadaspca.org/how-you-can-help/donate. CCMS has made a donation in honor of Dr. Mansky, and we encourage our friends and partners to do the same.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Susan, daughters Shauna and Abigail, and son Michael, as well as our sincere thanks that we all were given the benefit of Peter's countenance. May his memory be a blessing to all who mourn him.
